Alternative energy is a topic of great interest in a world where global climate change and dwindling fossil fuel reserves are realities. In general, alternative energy refers to energy sources that are thought to be renewable and/or have low (or lower than conventional energy sources) in carbon emission. Some specific examples include wind, biomass, solar, geothermal, hydroelectric and nuclear.
